Finding Trustworthy Financial Advice
While we are not able to assist you at this time, we would like to pass along some information to assist you in your search for a financial advisor:
Look for a CFP® professional (Certified Financial Planner) with experience working with clients in your situation and state of residence.
We strongly recommend that you work with an adviser who is a fee-only fiduciary. You can read about our fiduciary commitment and how fee-only reduces bias on our website.
There are a few websites that we'd recommend searching by specialty and location. These sites only list fee-only fiduciary advisers:
GarrettPlanningNetwork.com (The Garrett Planning Network) - Garrett planners commit to accepting clients on a project basis without investment minimums or requirements
NAPFA.org (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors) - NAPFA is the largest association of fee-only advisers; only some work on a project basis.
XYPlanningNetwork.com (The XY Planning Network) - Many XYPN advisers will work on a project basis and all will work with clients virtually, which is helpful if you can't find a local adviser.
We hope these tips will help you find an adviser that is a good fit for you.
